Back in college, in 2004 when blogging was hardly even a thing yet, I was here. Blogging before blogging meant anything to anyone. You can look in the archives for my past writings, but it was much more like a journal in the past. When we started fundraising, I messed around with the idea of launching something new for this new phase of our journey but actually hated that idea. I am a sum of all of my life and so much of it is here already. So I'm keeping it here. At least for now.

My main focus these days is blogging about our newest journey into the bizarre and wonderful world of gestational surrogacy. Posts dated 2013 and forward will trend heavily toward that journey. I don't promise everything I write will be about though. There might be other things that sneak in occasionally.

Please come along our journey with us. As the saying goes, "The more, the merrier!"

A twelve and a half hour work day, an aching head, and really all I can think about is a shower and my bed. Is it obvious that I was rhyming with my girls all day? Katie is so cute - she makes up words that rhyme. Foot, hoot, coot, moot...of course sometimes she comes up with actual words just by random chance. She recognizes the difference and we talk about it. She's amazing. It's so amazing to watch small children make sense of the world around them. I'm blessed with the opportunity to do that through the eyes of three little girls who make my life more full and real every day.

We make things up all day long, the girls and I. Imaginations. What a wonderful thing to foster. Maybe that's how I got to be so idealistic. Someone somewhere told me imagination was good and I've never stopped imagining how life could be...in some other imaginary world. So what happens when imagination and reality meet? Is that what everyone means when they say "growing up"? I'm not really sure I'm ready to give up my imagination yet.
