It snowed enough for most schools to cancel today. My friends who are teachers, I think, are glad for the day off. For me, it's really been a good day too, though not terribly unusual as far as my activities are concerned.
I'm again engrossed in the wonders of literature. After being encouraged by a friend to use this "time off" to focus more on my writing, I decided the best way to get in the mood was to start by reading. The pleasure that reading brings me is perhaps too great. I get so lost in the story - nearly become part of it - that I forget much of anything else. I read until 3:30 this morning and have been reading since I woke (save a shower and breakfast) for just over four hours. Sophie's Heart, a wonderful book by Laurie Wick, has me trapped.
Right now I'm taking a break from the book to head to the mall with Katie Herlihy. We're going to the Victoria Secret semi-annual sale. I think we're going a few other places too, but that is the main purpose for the trip. It's been good this week to be able to get out of my house more. Even though I still can't manage to drive, I'm thankful for my wonderful friends who always come and rescue me. Have a great Snowy Day!
Back in college, in 2004 when blogging was hardly even a thing yet, I was here. Blogging before blogging meant anything to anyone. You can look in the archives for my past writings, but it was much more like a journal in the past. When we started fundraising, I messed around with the idea of launching something new for this new phase of our journey but actually hated that idea. I am a sum of all of my life and so much of it is here already. So I'm keeping it here. At least for now.
My main focus these days is blogging about our newest journey into the bizarre and wonderful world of gestational surrogacy. Posts dated 2013 and forward will trend heavily toward that journey. I don't promise everything I write will be about though. There might be other things that sneak in occasionally.
Please come along our journey with us. As the saying goes, "The more, the merrier!"
