Back in college, in 2004 when blogging was hardly even a thing yet, I was here. Blogging before blogging meant anything to anyone. You can look in the archives for my past writings, but it was much more like a journal in the past. When we started fundraising, I messed around with the idea of launching something new for this new phase of our journey but actually hated that idea. I am a sum of all of my life and so much of it is here already. So I'm keeping it here. At least for now.

My main focus these days is blogging about our newest journey into the bizarre and wonderful world of gestational surrogacy. Posts dated 2013 and forward will trend heavily toward that journey. I don't promise everything I write will be about though. There might be other things that sneak in occasionally.

Please come along our journey with us. As the saying goes, "The more, the merrier!"

Ode to Star and the Blue Angel of Death

For two faithful years nothing much went wrong
we went on trips, some short, some long
A used mode she was of transport for me
but Star, my car, has taken me far.

It's blue in color, at least what little color you can see,
the Angel of Death she drives - so carefree.
A car past it's prime some ten years ago
Never sure it will run, she pushes it past places it should go.

New, old, blue, gold
Fancy, functional, fun, frightening
But the friends who drive them stand by them.
The cars the love do not divide them.
Instead there is a bond - one understood by few -
between us and our cars - Star and the Blue Angel of Death.

This week has held sorrow as we've had to bid adieu
to one of two we've loved, cherished, and thrown money into.
The Blue Angel may never return.
A sad but true fact she doesn't want to face
yet something reality won't let us erase.
Star was so sad that she too got ill
because of her sympathy I had to pay a hefty bill!
The bond is quite strong- and understood by few -
between us and our cars - Star and the blue Angel of Death.

I laughed; I cried; It moved me Kate!

By the way I have just been informed that it looks as thought the Blue Angel may be ressurected! Salvation!
