Yesterday morning I was leaving my parents home when I took an unexpected tumble into the bushes. My left leg made contact with the landscaping decorations which just so happen to be rocks. It smarted. A lot.
I went about my day in the usual manner though fully aware that my leg was swollen and very sore. I couldn't (and wouldn't) put much weight on it. And after 8 hours of limping I thought perhaps it was time to consider there might be a problem. So, after the bridal shower I had to go to (very fun time of course) I took a trip to the emergency room to get an x-ray. Just to check and make sure it was not fractured. I was in a fair amount of pain.
The x-rays showed that the bones are all intact, however they sent me away in an air-cast and a couple of ace bandages and on crutches anyway. I did some pretty decent damage to my leg. It's nicely bruised and banged. And did I mention fairly sore? The nice doctor also gave me some pain meds. Those helped with sleeping last night.
because this is classified I suppose as a serve sprain, I can still say I've never broken a bone...except my pinky on my right hand when I was four.
Back in college, in 2004 when blogging was hardly even a thing yet, I was here. Blogging before blogging meant anything to anyone. You can look in the archives for my past writings, but it was much more like a journal in the past. When we started fundraising, I messed around with the idea of launching something new for this new phase of our journey but actually hated that idea. I am a sum of all of my life and so much of it is here already. So I'm keeping it here. At least for now.
My main focus these days is blogging about our newest journey into the bizarre and wonderful world of gestational surrogacy. Posts dated 2013 and forward will trend heavily toward that journey. I don't promise everything I write will be about though. There might be other things that sneak in occasionally.
Please come along our journey with us. As the saying goes, "The more, the merrier!"
