Back in college, in 2004 when blogging was hardly even a thing yet, I was here. Blogging before blogging meant anything to anyone. You can look in the archives for my past writings, but it was much more like a journal in the past. When we started fundraising, I messed around with the idea of launching something new for this new phase of our journey but actually hated that idea. I am a sum of all of my life and so much of it is here already. So I'm keeping it here. At least for now.

My main focus these days is blogging about our newest journey into the bizarre and wonderful world of gestational surrogacy. Posts dated 2013 and forward will trend heavily toward that journey. I don't promise everything I write will be about though. There might be other things that sneak in occasionally.

Please come along our journey with us. As the saying goes, "The more, the merrier!"

The Road

The road to a friend's house is never long. Or so the saying goes. If that is true than why did I move so far away from my friend that it seems to take forever to get to her home now? But I suppose the saying must remain. Unless - wait, that's it!

I officially award myself authority to be able to amend that statement: Even at the end of a long road to a good friend's home, good things are found. (With the exception of closets that don't hold up their end of the bargain.)

I maintain that I love driving. Especially on the roads I graced tonight. No matter that it is frigid and my car creaked and moaned at me for a while due to the cold. I love driving. And I love being on the road to places I love. So even if it takes a long time and it's cold and there might be things broken when I get there, or say I get lost for a little while, the important part to remember is that I love driving.

I'm home now and it's way past my bedtime. What is it they say about the road home? All roads lead to home. Is that actually true? Maybe I will test it someday!
