Back in college, in 2004 when blogging was hardly even a thing yet, I was here. Blogging before blogging meant anything to anyone. You can look in the archives for my past writings, but it was much more like a journal in the past. When we started fundraising, I messed around with the idea of launching something new for this new phase of our journey but actually hated that idea. I am a sum of all of my life and so much of it is here already. So I'm keeping it here. At least for now.

My main focus these days is blogging about our newest journey into the bizarre and wonderful world of gestational surrogacy. Posts dated 2013 and forward will trend heavily toward that journey. I don't promise everything I write will be about though. There might be other things that sneak in occasionally.

Please come along our journey with us. As the saying goes, "The more, the merrier!"

Two Chili's

Best as I can recall, I've never been the first person in a restaurant upon it's opening. But when Kari and I arrived at 11:03 at Chili's in Arlington Heights today for an early lunch and we were the first party to be seated. It was a new experience for both of us - and definitely an interesting way to begin the day.

My friend Jess came out to Aurora for dinner and we decided on Chili's. She rarely eats there as DeKalb does not house one. The other option was Panera and DeKalb does have one of those. So Chili's again it was! I chose something on the menu I've never gotten before. Quite a feat since I eat there a lot.

To have the experience of being first served in a restaurant and voluntarily choosing to eat at the same place (in a different location...) twice is quite unusual. But as I retire for the night and think of the blessings of my day, I am thankful for my friends and glad for the day of Two Chili's.
