Back in college, in 2004 when blogging was hardly even a thing yet, I was here. Blogging before blogging meant anything to anyone. You can look in the archives for my past writings, but it was much more like a journal in the past. When we started fundraising, I messed around with the idea of launching something new for this new phase of our journey but actually hated that idea. I am a sum of all of my life and so much of it is here already. So I'm keeping it here. At least for now.

My main focus these days is blogging about our newest journey into the bizarre and wonderful world of gestational surrogacy. Posts dated 2013 and forward will trend heavily toward that journey. I don't promise everything I write will be about though. There might be other things that sneak in occasionally.

Please come along our journey with us. As the saying goes, "The more, the merrier!"

The Purple Problem

Not the biggest fans of shopping, my friend Julia and I hit the stores this evening in hopes of finding a dress for me, her "for all practical purposes" sixth bridesmaid. I will not be clad in the same dress as the other five women because, as is customary for me, I play a part in the wedding slightly different and therefore deserve distinction. (Thinks I at least...)

Her ladies' dresses are lavender and we thought with turnabout and such in the near future we'd have a pretty easy time finding something in like hue for me to purchase. What we didn't realize is that the designers of fashions this season have practically outlawed the color purple all together. Either it was completely non-existent on the racks or else it was in some hideous form that Julia would, "not allow you to wear in my wedding." Which is just as good because I would not have liked to be caught alive in any of the purple creations those few designers who actually boasted purple were trying to pass off as dresses.

It was a very unsuccessful, tiring, and not to mention depressing shopping trip that, to the chagrin of us both, is going to have to be repeated tomorrow evening. On the way out of the stores tonight, we began discussing other color options.
