Today I made a day of me. I considered what I wanted. Not what I should to do for anyone, the lists that need completing, or the floors that need cleaning. I put on hold the errands to be ran, the dishes to be done, and the projects that could have used the hours in my day.
Me went outside; it was a nice day save the wind. Me read on a picnic bench. With a picnic lunch. When it got too cold, Me ventured to Borders. The cafe there was closed so Me browsed for a while. Some good titles to look up on half.com later were found. But Me wanted tea. So off it was accross the parking lot to Starbucks (aren't the suburbs great?) where Me spent the next two and half hours reading. And people watching. Then Me came home and played piano for a few hours. Me practiced for the wedding next weekend. And then pulled out songs that haven't been touched in years. What fun! Me called a good friend and shared some great news (in my world it's great news albeit somewhat scary; don't care what you think). Me made pasta for dinner and now Me's going to bed with a candle lit, enjoying the drums and cymbals of the orchestra outdoors.
I wish there were more time in my life for days of me. She's pretty fun.
Back in college, in 2004 when blogging was hardly even a thing yet, I was here. Blogging before blogging meant anything to anyone. You can look in the archives for my past writings, but it was much more like a journal in the past. When we started fundraising, I messed around with the idea of launching something new for this new phase of our journey but actually hated that idea. I am a sum of all of my life and so much of it is here already. So I'm keeping it here. At least for now.
My main focus these days is blogging about our newest journey into the bizarre and wonderful world of gestational surrogacy. Posts dated 2013 and forward will trend heavily toward that journey. I don't promise everything I write will be about though. There might be other things that sneak in occasionally.
Please come along our journey with us. As the saying goes, "The more, the merrier!"
