Back in college, in 2004 when blogging was hardly even a thing yet, I was here. Blogging before blogging meant anything to anyone. You can look in the archives for my past writings, but it was much more like a journal in the past. When we started fundraising, I messed around with the idea of launching something new for this new phase of our journey but actually hated that idea. I am a sum of all of my life and so much of it is here already. So I'm keeping it here. At least for now.

My main focus these days is blogging about our newest journey into the bizarre and wonderful world of gestational surrogacy. Posts dated 2013 and forward will trend heavily toward that journey. I don't promise everything I write will be about though. There might be other things that sneak in occasionally.

Please come along our journey with us. As the saying goes, "The more, the merrier!"

Sick Bed

I didn't win my fight with the cold. It turned into a full-blown sinus infection with a fever and chills and an overall grossish feelingness to boot. Even though I tried everything I knew to ward off the inevitable (including lots of extra sleeping, increased vitamin C, fluids, and hot showers to break the congestion...) I landed myself at the doctor yesterday morning where I was prescribed a course of antibiotics and some heavy duty decongestant.

The decision I made to relax at my parents place this weekend (though I use the term loosely) turned out to be a wise one. I made it thinking I'd all but licked the cold; that turned out to not be the case as I was accosted by a fever on Friday night so from the stand point that I had less worries of transportation to the doctor it was hugely helpful. Also I don't think my mother's homemade chicken soup hurt anything one bit. I was able to rest all day yesterday and only worried about missing the things I was supposed to be doing while I wasn't sleeping. So that wasn't very much.

Today, though not wholly improved, I do have to say the decongestant is a quite the pill for I can breathe through my nose again and I've only taken two. Happily I report I am on the mend.
