I told a friend last week that 2007 would bring more blogging. On this, the first day of the year, I commit to making that statement true. And so I begin, as I told him I would, with a banner blog.
Truth is I'm exhausted tonight and want to publish this before January 2nd. So there won't be much. But I'm gonna try to get back in the habit of writing for all of you faithful checkers of my blog. Thanks for being faithful even when I'm not.
I've officially switched to the new version of blogger (skipped the whole beta phase deal while I wasn't writing...nice to know that took a while) but I have no idea what any of that means as I haven't been actively blogging in the last several months as that process has been occurring in the cyber-space place I've abandoned. So there will be some exploring and some catching up in the days to come.
I just hope to get back to old habits that are good for me. It's not a resolution - I learned years ago that those are not good for me - so don't get disappointed if it doesn't stick. It could be just a set up for another potentially empty month...that could very well happen. My hope though is that this post should bring about more and that 2007 will be a good year for writing in general.
Back in college, in 2004 when blogging was hardly even a thing yet, I was here. Blogging before blogging meant anything to anyone. You can look in the archives for my past writings, but it was much more like a journal in the past. When we started fundraising, I messed around with the idea of launching something new for this new phase of our journey but actually hated that idea. I am a sum of all of my life and so much of it is here already. So I'm keeping it here. At least for now.
My main focus these days is blogging about our newest journey into the bizarre and wonderful world of gestational surrogacy. Posts dated 2013 and forward will trend heavily toward that journey. I don't promise everything I write will be about though. There might be other things that sneak in occasionally.
Please come along our journey with us. As the saying goes, "The more, the merrier!"
