Back in college, in 2004 when blogging was hardly even a thing yet, I was here. Blogging before blogging meant anything to anyone. You can look in the archives for my past writings, but it was much more like a journal in the past. When we started fundraising, I messed around with the idea of launching something new for this new phase of our journey but actually hated that idea. I am a sum of all of my life and so much of it is here already. So I'm keeping it here. At least for now.

My main focus these days is blogging about our newest journey into the bizarre and wonderful world of gestational surrogacy. Posts dated 2013 and forward will trend heavily toward that journey. I don't promise everything I write will be about though. There might be other things that sneak in occasionally.

Please come along our journey with us. As the saying goes, "The more, the merrier!"

A Story of Steph

I met Steph on Sunday. I didn't know her before she introduced herself to me. It was random and our interaction was brief. She shared a difficult personal challenge with me and I offered to pray with her. She accepted and I sat with her for a few moments in prayer. I may never see her again.

I'm not sure how or why I find myself in situations like this, but hers is illustration of a few recently. Since it's been something that has been steadily increasing, I can safely say now that feel like God is calling me to do more of this type of thing. Clearly, if strangers are approaching me and telling me personal stories without any sort of invitation, I have to take that somewhat seriously. I don't know them, but God does. I'm learning just to trust that in the moments I share with them and learn from it. These stories could be obstacles in my day or opportunities to pray...so I'm making them opportunities to pray.

Before we prayed Steph was wondering if God cared about her broken heart. Now I think she knows He does.
