Back in college, in 2004 when blogging was hardly even a thing yet, I was here. Blogging before blogging meant anything to anyone. You can look in the archives for my past writings, but it was much more like a journal in the past. When we started fundraising, I messed around with the idea of launching something new for this new phase of our journey but actually hated that idea. I am a sum of all of my life and so much of it is here already. So I'm keeping it here. At least for now.

My main focus these days is blogging about our newest journey into the bizarre and wonderful world of gestational surrogacy. Posts dated 2013 and forward will trend heavily toward that journey. I don't promise everything I write will be about though. There might be other things that sneak in occasionally.

Please come along our journey with us. As the saying goes, "The more, the merrier!"

Soft Touch

I was reminded when she used the lotion. I used some too. She credits me for her use of this particular cosmetic miracle; which as far as I can figure, goes back to the hours in the photo lab and the gross chemicals that suck the moisture from any exposed pore. I always had lotion. It was necessary then. Truth be told, if you are me, there is never a time when it is not necessary to have lotion on hand. I hate dry skin, the ultimate curse of winter. I'm so glad winter is going away.

What do you do when you meet someone new? Typically, if you are from any civilized part of this world, you extend your hand for a shake. Therefore, upon meeting, I found it natural to do that very thing. The recipient of my hand commented, "That is the softest hand I've ever felt!" and requested that the other person present verify his observation. A second hand extended and vaguely agreed, clearly not as interested. I pride myself (mildly, of course) on being in possession of well moisturized hands, but rarely are my efforts recognized. Because lotion is so vital to my life, it was a great big smile he was met with upon his sensory observation. A smile and undying gratitude to the folks at Curel for making the best lotion in the world. It is obviously a good product if a hand shake gets it complimented.

Now, I just have to rid myself of the nasty paper-cut on my finger....anybody got neosporin?
