Back in college, in 2004 when blogging was hardly even a thing yet, I was here. Blogging before blogging meant anything to anyone. You can look in the archives for my past writings, but it was much more like a journal in the past. When we started fundraising, I messed around with the idea of launching something new for this new phase of our journey but actually hated that idea. I am a sum of all of my life and so much of it is here already. So I'm keeping it here. At least for now.

My main focus these days is blogging about our newest journey into the bizarre and wonderful world of gestational surrogacy. Posts dated 2013 and forward will trend heavily toward that journey. I don't promise everything I write will be about though. There might be other things that sneak in occasionally.

Please come along our journey with us. As the saying goes, "The more, the merrier!"

Tico Time

14 Catorce: Ticos de La Comunidad y Somos Seis

What goes around comes around. Right? Well, we're so glad it's true. At least this we is. No, I recant and will emphatically speak for the entire quotient of Somos Seis. We are all so glad it's true.

It's time. They are coming. And we can't wait. Mark, Ximena, and Marsala paved the way for the rest of the Ticos. The arrived on the August 1st and I believe everyone else is due on the 8th. We're not even quite sure who everyone is. But Rudy, Don Sergio, Juan Carlos - those three we know. There will be others, some that we didn't meet. That is equally as exciting as knowing that we'll see Tiocs that are already friends. The Leadership Summit brings them here, but there is so much more we hope to happen.

They hosted us, and now, it's our turn. Hopefully we will be able to bless them as they blessed us. Personally I don't know that the blessing I received in Costa Rica will ever be able to be returned, but in this time, I want them to feel just as at home as I did there. They will not be staying in my home, (unless one counts J & Y's as my home, which I'm blessed to be able to do...I have refrigerator rights there you know ;-) ) but they will have a home here always. And I want them to leave knowing that. Just as I left Costa Rica knowing that I will always have a home there.
