This week I started transporting my friend's kids to daycare several mornings. (Which means I get up really early now...some of you have balked at my new rising time...some of you have consoled saying you're also usual at work by then as well.) As such, I have two carseats that hang out in the back of my car now. One of them had to be temporarily removed the other day and I knew last night when I got home from church that it had to be put back in before the early morning drive to daycare.
Usually I have to park a decent walk from my door, and not wanting to have to do so with the carseat, which I was just going to go inside, retrieve and put in my car, I parked in the "dumpster spot." Said spot is a "spot" right across the lot from my condo where one may park until 10:00pm without the fear of getting towed.
This morning I woke up at 4:30 to my alarm. Got out of bed a half an hour later at 5;00 and as soon as I got out of bed I realized I had never made it back out to my car. Panic set in. The carseat was still on my kitchen floor and my car was probably gone. I threw my shoes on in two seconds and ran outside.
Much to my shock and pleasure, my car sat excatly where I left it. Thank God it wasn't garbage pick up day. I don't think I'll be parking the the dumpster spot any time again soon.
Back in college, in 2004 when blogging was hardly even a thing yet, I was here. Blogging before blogging meant anything to anyone. You can look in the archives for my past writings, but it was much more like a journal in the past. When we started fundraising, I messed around with the idea of launching something new for this new phase of our journey but actually hated that idea. I am a sum of all of my life and so much of it is here already. So I'm keeping it here. At least for now.
My main focus these days is blogging about our newest journey into the bizarre and wonderful world of gestational surrogacy. Posts dated 2013 and forward will trend heavily toward that journey. I don't promise everything I write will be about though. There might be other things that sneak in occasionally.
Please come along our journey with us. As the saying goes, "The more, the merrier!"
