Back in college, in 2004 when blogging was hardly even a thing yet, I was here. Blogging before blogging meant anything to anyone. You can look in the archives for my past writings, but it was much more like a journal in the past. When we started fundraising, I messed around with the idea of launching something new for this new phase of our journey but actually hated that idea. I am a sum of all of my life and so much of it is here already. So I'm keeping it here. At least for now.

My main focus these days is blogging about our newest journey into the bizarre and wonderful world of gestational surrogacy. Posts dated 2013 and forward will trend heavily toward that journey. I don't promise everything I write will be about though. There might be other things that sneak in occasionally.

Please come along our journey with us. As the saying goes, "The more, the merrier!"

Organizing Seven; Part 2

Remember me? I'm the woman who works so many jobs that keeping track of them is another full-time job in and of itself. Well, things have changed a bit and I thought it was due time for a job update. Organizing Seven has all the original details.

Job #1
Ministry. Vision is getting clearer by the day. God is amazing. This is, by far, the most demanding of my positions, but I can say that I believe it is already the most rewarding. Though it is today still a very undefined role (as in unpaid) I know I am exactly where I need to be in the process of this career. And it's where it needs to be. In God's hands.

Job #2
Writing. Just got off the phone with my first official editor. I am a freelance writer. Or as my friend Cyn says, a "writer at large." (Now I just need the cards to prove it.) Whoo-hooo!! (A great big thanks to my hook up...you know who you are!) The coolest thing about this is that no one knew it but I set April as my goal for publication. While the article won't come out until June, in April, I know I can and will be published.

Job #3
Holland is the baby who I played with on the floor of her parent's new home in October. She is now 15 months and a joy to be around. I see her Thursdays from 9:00-12:30.

Job #4
Model house sitter. Kind of like baby-sitter - only in a suit. Seriously. Due to some recent schedule changes that will be revealed in a moment, I have begun picking up some hours with Alliance HR Network again. It had stopped for a time. I enjoy my time there. It's a nice break from the kiddos.

Job #5
My friend Melanie quit her job at the place where she's worked for nearly ten years. She took a 50% pay cut to get a job in her field that will allow her to spend more time with her kids and take better care of herself. And you all laughed at me for getting up at 4:30! But what I knew when I committed to that was that God is up to something in her life. She's coming to church with me on the 22nd. Job #5, I think, was very much connected to Job#1. I don't see Alicia and Anthony as often anymore, but their mom gets more time with them and that's a great thing. Oh, and I also don't have car seats in my car anymore, which I don't mind at all.

Job #6
Zach turned three last Monday when I was there. I'm with him every Monday from 8:00-5:00 and now that the weather is warmer we're going outside and to the park. He's a fun little guy and Craig and Anne have been a wonderful addition to my life as well.

Job #7
The organizing was short lived but in its place I got another family. Stefeine and Christian have two kids, Abbie and Ian. Abbie is three and Ian is almost four months now. I am there Tuesday mornings 8:30-11:30, Wednesdays 8:30-2:30, and Thursdays 3:00-6:30.

It might not be your ordinary working schedule, but for now it's working. I know it's working because in and through it I am experiencing so many blessings I never could have asked for or imagined. This journey is one of faith. And seven is the perfect number of jobs to have while I'm on it.
