I've much to celebrate today. It's the weekend (For me it is anyway I think I'm going to love having days off no one else does!) It's fall (another thing I love). It's quiet at home. And of course there is the fridge. We must celebrate the fridge. See, my housemates bought a new refrigerator this weekend because soon we will have a new housemate.
I've not written much of where I've moved or how it came to be or why it's been so good. But little things like refrigerator, tables, and couches make this new home feel so right. And now with the addition of one more person I think it's going to feel even more like home.
I'm excited about this new adventure. Our new housemate is Brooke. She is a great friend and companion already but also someone whom I trust that God has brought into my life for now. To grow with and to love. To challenge me and teach me as I do the same for her. And heading into a living situation like this is completely amazing. When you wait on God the blessings turn up in unexpected and completely exciting ways.
And Rose and Lorne, our other house mates have already loved on us in incredible ways. With coffee, conversation, relationship, new refrigerator and space for our furniture. A demonstration of God's love, to be sure. They are opening their home, sharing their family and welcoming two women in their 20's to explore God's plan more completely.
We are planning to celebrate. I think it will be great.
Back in college, in 2004 when blogging was hardly even a thing yet, I was here. Blogging before blogging meant anything to anyone. You can look in the archives for my past writings, but it was much more like a journal in the past. When we started fundraising, I messed around with the idea of launching something new for this new phase of our journey but actually hated that idea. I am a sum of all of my life and so much of it is here already. So I'm keeping it here. At least for now.
My main focus these days is blogging about our newest journey into the bizarre and wonderful world of gestational surrogacy. Posts dated 2013 and forward will trend heavily toward that journey. I don't promise everything I write will be about though. There might be other things that sneak in occasionally.
Please come along our journey with us. As the saying goes, "The more, the merrier!"
