Back in college, in 2004 when blogging was hardly even a thing yet, I was here. Blogging before blogging meant anything to anyone. You can look in the archives for my past writings, but it was much more like a journal in the past. When we started fundraising, I messed around with the idea of launching something new for this new phase of our journey but actually hated that idea. I am a sum of all of my life and so much of it is here already. So I'm keeping it here. At least for now.

My main focus these days is blogging about our newest journey into the bizarre and wonderful world of gestational surrogacy. Posts dated 2013 and forward will trend heavily toward that journey. I don't promise everything I write will be about though. There might be other things that sneak in occasionally.

Please come along our journey with us. As the saying goes, "The more, the merrier!"

85% Engagement Update

Just talked to Liz. You remember: my friend who is 85% engaged. (I will remind everyone that the percentage is my "fault.") But what was my little "joke" is actually know become a measure, even in her own mind I think. Percentages are wonderful things I think. They help. Me anyway. Also, things like scales, lists, closet organizers, measuring tapes, yard sticks . . .

This post is just to inform the world of my faithful readers and friends (at this point you're really still one in the same) that Liz and Ken are now 92% engaged. I guess 92% is enough for one friend from junior high to ask another to be a "pseudo bridesmaid." Pseudo bridesmaid defined: "A woman who is not quite but almost standing in a wedding. Instead she sits mostly and fingers the ivory keys of a hopefully in-tune stringed instrument during part or all of the ceremony." She would be me. And though I've done it before, I've never actually done it under this title.

Yes Liz, I'm thrilled to play for you. I just hope 4 months is enough time for it to sound good…I’m a little rusty these years. Anyway, happy 92% engagement. I've had fun congratulating you along the way. Please don't forget to inform me when it 100%, okay?
